the first year of mommy/daddy hood down, we survived! what a year it was and now our girl is 1... 1! I'm sure it'll feel like this forever, but it seems like yesterday was our first night home as a family of three. she went from being a tiny newborn who slept most of the day to our little ray of silliness. she's a funny little kid.
within this year we have joined our home church- the branch. what a gift this has been! i've definitely grown these past 6 months since our launch. last night was the first time harper didn't cry the entire service so this mama was able to be in there from start to finish! thank you, Jesus. I needed to be in this sermon, hence the reason why i'm back in the blogosphere and leaving good ol' facebook in the dust. so keep me accountable people! i've been thinking of getting rid of it for... years. it's a huge distraction and being a stay at home mom, it's been worse. if you know me, you know i am my mother's child- worry being my middle name. dwelling is a habit and any time something awful would happen in our world, i'd do just that- dwell, look at random people's pages who were affected and in turn it'd affect me, then my sensitive self would be sad and worried those things would/will happen in my life. the message last night was about idols and how dangerous that road can be and i felt the Lord telling me it's time to give it up. quit being obsessed with other people's stories and focus on my story, our story. so here's the first step to "scrapbook" our journey as a family, my journey as a wife, mom, and daughter of Jesus.
