wednesday.
halfway through the week! i always look forward to weekends, even though i've heard other mom's say you don't have one since your job is 24/7. in my life, i do. my husband gets to be home= we can both help with harper and being in his presence is simply the best.
with this dreary weather and teething 1 year old, this mama has been experiencing a little cabin fever... so here's what i'm loving on pinterest as of late, enjoy >>>

our week.
i've had many things on my mind regarding what to write about today.
music- loving ben howard and josh garrels. mellow, easy listening tunes.
grove- pumped about our small group, we've had 2 great meetings so far, looking forward to many more.
working through- holding my family as an idol and of utmost importance in my life. praying i can let it go and let God. super tough.
loving- time with an incredible, dear friend of mine and chatting about her impending nuptials. cuddle time with marley and my girl. harper's many open mouth kisses i so enjoy receiving during the day. dinner time with my honey each night. cheesy maybe, yes, but love the pair app he and i have been using to connect during the day. waking in the middle of the night to hear my noisy sleeper (who by the way looks huge in her crib) and proceeding to snuggle my man (who is also a loud sleeper... wonder where harp gets it?!). skype-ing with my parents and grandparents, watching those 4 interact and be silly over the internet always brings a smile to my face. harper still has birthday outfits she hasn't worn... oh how i love dressing my girl. when the garage door opens at night harper looks at me with an open mouth/surprised look- could it be daddy?! hearing ac and her laugh while i clean up dinner. jesus calling. time with my sister and adorable nieces who amaze me every time i see them. working out, thank you to my incredible friend hilari who has motivated me. feeling sore from using unknown muscles! eating better. harper is standing by herself more and more= walking sooner than later!!
waiting- for my new ily couture sideways cross necklace to come in the mail.
dreaming- of getting away for a weekend with my hubs- in the mountains, with snow and a fireplace.
happy friday!!

the urge.
with the switch to the blog life, i've started following quite a few fabulous people. many of which are decorators, like my best friend, kylie from shimmer me pretty. she's my own interior decorator and has helped me with our simplistic style (i hit the jackpot with her, best friend and incredible style sense). thank goodness for her super ideas! she's been posting about the color gold. ahhh i love this color. it can be dressed up or down and is simply chic.
along with gold, i'm loving and black and white. after all this brown in my life (since our wedding) i'm itching for a change. i will be dreaming until our next home or the one after that, but boy is it fun to think about. sometimes i wish i wasn't so into all the rooms flowing together (color wise), i'd have a variety of colors and styles in each i think.
a few blogs i'm loving:
urban nester molly is amazing! i love her decorating and clothing style. she also has a heart for Jesus, so i've been enjoying her journey.
glitter + grace sara rocks! i love how she shares her life along with personal style. she's a breath of fresh air.
the decorista-domestic bliss if you know me you know i love NYC. ashlina is a decorator in this incredible city and i so enjoy her posts. tons of cute apartments and good advice!
bows & sequins jessica also lives in NYC, imagine that! she has a style that i dream of being able to pull off one day. she could be part of the reason why i'm so into the black and white combo again :)
lastly, here's a picture of my little nugget, enjoy!

hope.
my goal on this blog is to be open about my life and be me (sometimes harder than one may think). this was a verse i came across last week in my devotional- Jesus Calling. if you haven't picked up this book yet, i highly suggest it. sarah young is the author and writes as if Jesus is talking to you personally, which He is, but you get what i mean. it's simple and straightforward... aka my kind of devotional.
anyways, this verse really stuck out to me, more than any verse has lately. i struggle with giving up control of many aspects in my life, thinking i can do it. i yearn to trust more and to have peace in my heart daily by turning things over to the Lord (also quite hard). i keep reading it over and over, it's a powerful verse. i find comfort in knowing God has my back. i find comfort in knowing He gives us power in overcoming obstacles in our lives. i find comfort in knowing He gives us peace despite the crazy world we live in.
on another note... here's a few of harper, who is currently not this happy.
happy almost thursday!

moved.
a new year!
the first year of mommy/daddy hood down, we survived! what a year it was and now our girl is 1... 1! I'm sure it'll feel like this forever, but it seems like yesterday was our first night home as a family of three. she went from being a tiny newborn who slept most of the day to our little ray of silliness. she's a funny little kid.
within this year we have joined our home church- the branch. what a gift this has been! i've definitely grown these past 6 months since our launch. last night was the first time harper didn't cry the entire service so this mama was able to be in there from start to finish! thank you, Jesus. I needed to be in this sermon, hence the reason why i'm back in the blogosphere and leaving good ol' facebook in the dust. so keep me accountable people! i've been thinking of getting rid of it for... years. it's a huge distraction and being a stay at home mom, it's been worse. if you know me, you know i am my mother's child- worry being my middle name. dwelling is a habit and any time something awful would happen in our world, i'd do just that- dwell, look at random people's pages who were affected and in turn it'd affect me, then my sensitive self would be sad and worried those things would/will happen in my life. the message last night was about idols and how dangerous that road can be and i felt the Lord telling me it's time to give it up. quit being obsessed with other people's stories and focus on my story, our story. so here's the first step to "scrapbook" our journey as a family, my journey as a wife, mom, and daughter of Jesus.
